The Law, and YES it is a law

Effective January 1, 2015 PPACA mandates that employers with 50 or more full-time employees (or full- time equivalents) will have to:

  •  Provide for all full-time employees (and dependent children) healthcare coverage that is affordable – i.e., employee contributions cannot exceed 9.5% of the annual household income for employee only coverage; 

 AND

  •  Provide minimum value – i.e., the health plan must cover at least 60% of the actuarial value of the coverage according to regulatory guides.
